While many charities have top line environmental policies in place, very few who deliver services outside the core field of sustainability have managed to turn these policies into on-going employee action.
As financial pressure on the charity sector builds, we believe environmental action must be seen as an opportunity rather than a chore. As well as meeting legal obligations, it is increasingly important for charity reputation, employee motivation, corporate partner selection and financial management.
Did you know that a 10% reduction on average paper use of 35 people can save £200 per year plus additional savings on toner and electricity? Or that switching 25 journeys a month to and from meetings from public transport to bicycle in London can save £100 a month – rising to £500 a month if taxis are taken?
The key to turning policies into practice is a dynamic and inspiring employee engagement campaign. To find out how to create one, contact Amanda Powell-Smith on 020 7403 2230, amanda@forster.co.uk.
