John Grounds Joins Board of Forster Communications

By Forster Communications

4 November 2015

We’re thrilled to announce that communications maestro John Grounds has joined the board of Forster Communications, as a Non Executive Director, to help us increase our already strong links with the voluntary sector and sharpen up the services we offer to charity clients.

John joins the Forster board following a long and distinguished career in the voluntary sector, having held senior communications roles at Barnardo’s, Action Research, NSPCC and RSPCA. He has a reputation for being one of the sector’s leading strategic thinkers, a master at integrated communications and a champion for good practice as Chair of CharityComms.

John first worked with Jilly Forster, our founder and Chair, in the 1990s, when she was Communications Director at The Body Shop International. She commented on his appointment:

‘John and I worked together at The Body Shop for a decade – uniting employees and stakeholders around a shared social purpose, mobilising movements and creating change. I’m delighted to be working with John again – he brings enormous insight into the challenges the charity sector faces and will help us strengthen the voice, reach and impact of our charity clients.’

John is also delighted to be working with us:

‘It’s a privilege to be joining the Forster team. Their track record of delivering social change through campaigns that protect and improve lives is exemplary. Having spent my whole career both in-house and now as a consultant, working to deliver social impact through marketing, communications and campaigns, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute my own experience to Forster’s inspirational team.’

Owned and run by our employees, we recently became one of the UK’s first certified B Corporations; a new movement of businesses looking to create positive impact around profit, people and planet.

We are increasingly working with progressive businesses that have a passion for social and environmental change and we recently launched a new service to support businesses on developing meaningful and impactful cause engagement programmes with charities.
