Forster launch Sustainable Schools survey results

Forster has launched the results of a survey carried out as part of the Sustainable Schools initiative for the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).

Forster has been working with DCSF since June to raise awareness of the initiative, which aims to encourage schools to take on board the principles of sustainable development in their everyday activities.

Forster won a competitive pitch to work with the DCSF on the PR for Sustainable Schools - the agency's first project with the newly formed government department.

The survey shows that 70% of 13 - 15 year olds think it is important to know where the ingredients of their school dinner come from and 81% think it is important that their school uses renewable energy sources.

As well as promoting healthy living, environmental awareness, community participation and global citizenship, the Sustainable Schools initiative provides a foundation for children to live sustainable lifestyles and create a sense of social responsibility for the next generation.
