Forster and the Youth Justice Board join forces on media training
Forster and the Youth Justice Board have teamed up to run a series of regional events helping youth offending teams (YOTs) work effectively with local media.
Youth justice issues can be tackled in an insensitive manner by the media, frustrating youth justice workers, alienating young people and frightening the general public.
The training gives delegates practical advice on planning their media strategy, with tips on getting their projects into print - and on the airwaves. It also provides an opportunity to quiz a local journalist and be interviewed ‘live’ on radio.
Pilot workshops ran in both London and Cardiff, with early indications show that they’ve been a real success. An initial evaluation indicates that the majority of delegates left feeling enthused and had gained real knowledge and insight into dealing with the media.
