Piloting an intervention to tackle childhood obesity
Forster is working with Southwark Council Health and Social Care on a pilot scheme to reduce the level of childhood obesity in the borough. The project will be trialled in two local schools from January 2008.
Forster have been brought on board to create an identity that will be used across a range of collateral to encourage children, parents and teachers to help children live healthier, happier lives. The materials will be designed to appeal to primary school age children, as Southwark Health and Social Care have identified this as the best age to target children to prevent future weight problems.
The pilot will run three activity strands, Cook it up, Step it up and Keep it up. The new identity will work across materials and merchandise to support the strands, such as recipe cards, stepometers and a toolkit for keeping up the good work.
