Accessibility standards
This website has been designed and built in line with guidelines set out by the WC3 Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) These are definitive international guidelines for building accessible websites. The guidelines are divided into three levels of compliance: Single-A (what you must do), Double-A (what you should do), and Triple-A (what you may do in addition). This website is close to achieving Double-A standard and we are striving towards Triple-A compliance.
Layout
This website uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to seperate design from content (with a rare exception for certain components of some pages). This means that if your browser does not support CSS or if you wish to turn it off, all pages remain easily readable and fully functional.
Fonts
All fonts are scalable, which mean you can adjust the type size to suit you by using the options in your browser menu. Go to the 'View' menu in your browser window to increase or decrease font size.
Access keys
Access keys let you navigate around a website without using a mouse. The access keys we have used are based on the UK Government's recommendations, as follows:
s - skip past navigation to the main content of the page
a - link to this accessibility page
1 - link to the Forster home page
2 - link to the Services section
3 - link to the sitemap
4 - link to the Outcomes section
7 - linking to the Contact us page
8 - link to the terms and conditions
Access keys may not work on some web browsers. You may not have to press enter or hold down enter on some browsers.
PDF files
Adobe Reader is a software programme that enables you to read and print Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Download the latest version of Adobe Reader
We endeavour to make PDF files on our website accessible to screen readers but as yet we cannot guarantee that all content on PDF files is accessible.
As an alternative, you can use Adobe conversion tools to convert PDFs or HTML into text format.
Help with accessibility
The My Web My Way pages at the BBC website carry information on the many ways you can change your browser, computer, keyboard and mouse settings to make the web more accessible for you.
