Every employee an ambassador

By Amanda Powell-Smith

We are delighted to have been recognised as one of Britain’s Healthiest Workplaces for three years running – coming in with a silver medal at today’s awards among some of the UK’s most pioneering organisations.

It would be easy for me as CEO to take the credit, but I know that the consistency of our success has come as a result of our deeply rooted company culture that means our health and wellbeing initiatives are driven by everyone in the team.

Our purpose as an organisation is to use the power of communications to protect and improve lives, and in 2015 we became a founding UK B Corp – reiterating our commitment to pushing expectations of how businesses can be a force for good.

But setting intent and writing policies is the easy bit – it’s translating them into action that many organisations find difficult, with great ambitions getting stuck in head office or ignored by front line teams.

Our integrity as social change specialists comes from walking the talk, from listening and often using ourselves to pilot new ideas and initiatives. Without employee ownership around their own health and wellbeing, no CEO diktat is going to make a difference.

So if you want to reap the benefits of a healthy, engaged workforce then start with the critical question: how can I enable every employee to take action and become an ambassador?

Get in touch and we’ll be happy to share our approach.
