National Citizen Service

16 April 2014

Forster has won a retained brief to work for the newly independent National Citizen Service.

NCS, which is open to all 15 to 17 year olds in England and Northern Ireland, brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. The programme runs from spring to autumn and involves a short time away from home to build independence.  Participants work to develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they’re passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community.

The organisation is quickly becoming a well known, well loved national institution, which will soon  be part of every teenager’s life. Our  task is to make sure that parents, teachers and the wider public realise the benefit the programme has on teenagers and, subsequently, on society. We’ll also position NCS as a thought leader on youth issues.

We will be drawing on our extensive experience in reaching young people, from Talk to FRANK and Young Minds to our recent work with the Foyer Federation.

Carole Breen, NCS PR Manager said of our pitch: “Forster stood head and shoulders above the rest, thanks to their creativity, strategic approach and wealth of experience. This is a very important year for us so it’s great to have an agency we feel understands the bigger picture and focuses on change rather than column inches.”
