Responsible business expert Hilary Berg partners with Forster
to strengthen support for businesses taking the lead on sustainability.
We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Hil Berg, former Head of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Iceland Foods, to help more businesses turn their sustainability ambitions into action.
A specialist in social change communications, Hil joins Forster as a Strategic Advisor, bringing insights and expertise from supporting the board of one of the UK’s leading supermarkets and an international brand activist. While in-house at Iceland, Hil reported to Managing Director Richard Walker with a brief to develop its award-winning Doing it Right strategy.
Best known for corporate activism campaigns on palm oil and plastic pollution, Hil also tackled carbon and food waste reduction at Iceland. She developed the Backyard Nature campaign for Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation to engage children in nature and led Iceland’s child poverty agenda. She continues in an independent role as Responsible Business Advisor to Iceland Foods.
Working together, Forster and Hil will help organisations identify their sustainability ambitions, find and test their opportunity, build partnerships and alliances, and deliver strategic communications. From a blank sheet of paper or knotted challenge to generating measurable impact, all activity will support a shared purpose of protecting and improving lives.
Amanda Powell-Smith, Forster CEO, said:
“We have known Hil for a long time, as both a client and a friend – she is an outstanding practitioner and we are excited to be joining forces. We are both driven by a belief in responsible business, and the combination of our skills and perspectives will be hugely beneficial to clients – be they leading activists or just starting their change journey.”
Hil Berg said:
“Over the years I have worked with Forster on some great projects, through our shared passion for strategic, purpose-led communications, and I have always admired their focus on environmental and social change. I am really excited to be able to join the team at such a pivotal time for organisations to act on the dual imperatives of climate change and social justice.”
